As she snapped the twig off the branch of a cherry tree, Kaiden couldn't help but remember her. She loved these trees. The blossoms were her favorite flower. 
They really were beautiful, weren't they?
     Kaiden smothers the petals and rubs them between her thumb and forefinger as she saunters down the cracked sidewalk, just off the red brick road. The neighbor wouldn't mind the vandalism, after all.
Gazing up at the sky, she tried to count the clouds, but they just spread out above her like a wool blanket soaked in hard water. Counting the bits of sky peeking out was her main source of entertainment.
     A single raindrop landed on the lenses of her large framed glasses.

Through the closed blinds of Karleigh's window, I can see her silhouette shuffling around the room. Scanning the ground around me I find a small pebble. With a chuckle I toss the pebble at the window right in front of me. I laugh and chuckle, giving her a small shrug. "I'm trying to get your attention by throwing rocks at your window, you know, like the movies." I smile stupidly at her. She's trying to fight back her smile, but she's failing. "Harry, in the movies they throw rocks to the windows on the second floor. I only have a one story house." She rolls her eyes. "I realize that, but I figured that would just make it easier for me to climb inside your window." The smug smile on my face is obvious.

"Daughter, always remember that these cherry blossoms are the flower of birth, so delicate and fragile like a human existence. It cherishes and blooms the world and then disappears leaving behind their rare splendour beauty."
