I made my way to the huge brick house. Roses were scattered all across the ground that led me to the front door. It was made out of oak wood and had scratches all over them. It looked like it was attacked by a wild animal, maybe even a coyote. I pulled it open and found myself face to face with those amazing golden eyes. I fell in a trance as his hands caressed my cheek and lower back.

"You're not scared of me?" He spoke so close to my face I could feel his breath on my lips.

"No, I would never be..." I was almost at a whisper when I said that. As fast as lightning I was pushed against the door I had just opened.

"You should be. I'm a monster and only want one thing." He said moving his face away from mine with a smile.

"What do you want?" I had then noticed his teeth had grow and were now striking his lower lip.

"Your blood." He grabbed my hair and pulled it to the side to where my neck was completely exposed. He bit down in my neck and instead of feeling pain all I felt was pleasure. I moaned and grabbed at his shirt pulling him closer.

∆ For centuries, I observed humanity from the shadows - detached, eternal, unwavering in my purpose. Every contract I fulfilled brought a sense of completion, reinforcing the essence of my existence. Life unfolded in a rhythm I had long accepted: steady, predictable, untouched by emotion. Until you appeared. Your presence shattered the stillness of my world like a sudden tremor beneath ancient stone. From the moment you stepped into my path, something shifted - light spilled into corners I'd forgotten existed, and with it, the vivid hues of forgotten feeling. You, with your quiet defiance and magnetic pull, unsettled something I had buried deep. In your presence, emotions long entombed stirred - wild, chaotic, alive. Like a storm breaking over calm waters, you roused in me a fire I didn't know still burned. My composure cracked. My certainty unraveled. Each encounter left an imprint. A spark. A mark I could not erase. Slowly, unknowingly, a bond formed - fragile, yet undeniable. And with each breath you took beside me, I felt something I hadn't in centuries: I felt alive. Not because of purpose. Not because of duty. But because of you. ∆ --- 🔴⚠️🔴 WARNING: 🖤This story contains mature themes including strong language, sexual content, death, religious references, and other sensitive material. It's been two years since he has gone to study abroad. I still remember the day I came to live in this house after my parent's death. I still remember the day when he suddenly came into my room. I was looking at him with shocked eyes because of his actions. He locked the door and started coming in my direction. I knew that I was in danger but I can't move my body. Bloody hell, my body was held by the cold gaze of his blue sea-colored eyes. With long steps, he was coming towards me, and in a flash of seconds, he was in front of me. He grabbed my hair making me look into his eyes, my eyes were close afraid of meeting his cold star but the next word from his mouth made my eyes short open. "Who was that man Jane with whom you were laughing and talking answer me. Who was he," he shouted in anger. I took in his appearance his jaw was clenched and his eyes were burning in anger. H-e-he saw me with him. I knew I was in danger. Now, what should I do was the big question for me. Warm tears filled my eyes ready to slip out from the corner of my eyes by remembering that day. The more memory of that day still you heard it right. First place in The Scribblers Award 2020 for best novel
