Alec looked forward at the woman he was marrying but she wasn't what caught his eye, instead it was his sister, Isabelle, standing behind his bride with a saddened look in her eyes, she seen him looking and she smiled lightly, trying to convince him that everything was alright. He looked back at his bride, Lydia Branwell was stunning in her gold dress, even Alec could admit that. Although he knows he doesn't love Lydia, he knows that this; standing in front of her, holding his hand out to her, and preparing to be runed was the right and honorable thing to do.

He watched, as Lydia picked up the stele and touched it to the ancient wedding crystal. Steam, or what looked like steam, rose from the crystal and Lydia brought the stele to Alec and let it hover above his wrist. She looked up at him, he seen in her light blue eyes that she had doubts. He nodded his head to reassure her, so lightly that it was barely noticeable and Lydia let out a breath she didn't know she was holding. She put the stele to Alec's wrist, he felt the familiar burning from the stele that he has learned to bare. The burning stopped and Alec looked down at his wrist where the finished rune was placed.
