Yve and her mother escape to her grandmother's hometown after struggling to come to terms with her death. Not only has her grandmother left behind a heap of emotional trauma for her mother, Yve has also began to feel deeper connections with everything around her and seeing things that only her grandmother ever talked about.

When Yve wonders into the forest, she finds herself caught up in the complicated and secretive lives of Benjamin and the group of his friends who are more wold than human. She begins wondering if all those stories her grandma told her were really just some crazy ramblings or whether her Grandmother was perfectly sane all this time.
