Athena was the only one who did not have powers in her family. She may not have talent in witchcraft, but she did pick up abilities on basic core subjects. However, there may be more of what Athena really is. Maybe she isn't some regular 'mortal'. Maybe she isn't some outcast who only has two friends. Maybe she's something else.
Because she was, Athena.
But how is she to know about what she really is? She can't possibly learn by herself. Enter, Xander. For he will be the one to help guide her to what she lacks.
The world is in Athena's hands, and if she doesn't find out soon and do something about it, all hell will break loose.
