Mental is about a girl named Penelope who has an imaginary friend.Her parents think she's insane and sends her off to a mental asylum.Her sister Paige believes that she's not insane and goes the extra mile to help her escape.Their parents don't want the to see eachother but paige usually lies and says she's visiting a friend.Paige sees her everyday after school and hangs out with her on the weekend,they're inseparable.Paige tells Penelope to talk to a girl named Vanessa that has tried to escape many time,Penelope does.At the asylum they have to be in bed by 9pm. Little did Penelope know the asylum is studying the communication of minds.Penelope escapes with Vanessa and is most wanted for escaping the asylum says they attacked a guard and they're completely insane.They travel everywhere to find them and finally find them in Kansas and traveled back to San Francisco where they lived together.
