Ballet is a lifestyle, not a hobby.
Anastasia has known that since she could walk, and has never wavered from her personal regimen of hard work, sweat, and constant practice. The way she sees it, she has an all but assured victory at the United Ballet Association Youth State Finals.
Allison has spent as many hours on the balance beam as Anastasia has on the dance floor, but ballet had never really crossed her mind. Sure, she can hold a handstand on the beam for upwards of an hour, but she's never worn a tutu in her life, and she certainly can't keep a rhythm.

And something about Jordan--being around him, talking to him, thinking about him--makes me feel like I can finally breathe again. That's something I haven't been able to do lately. In the gym, if you're struggling, you train harder, you do drills and conditioning. How do I work hard at moving on? At being on my own?
