True blood vampires rule the world with impure vampire clans as servants and humans as blood bags and pets. Ever since human pets became a reality hundreds of years ago, several lower ranked vampires fell for their pets and married them. The babies born were either humans, vampires, or half-vampires. Half-vampires had to be trained or they might lose their vampire characteristics with time.
Ruby is a now 23 year old human, from a once blood bag family. She was captured by a vampire scavenger and sold to a human pet store owner at the age of 16.
With her glaring icy blue eyes and shivering figure, she grabs the attention of the hot tempered and slighty rough true blood vampire, Lorcan.
