"You're okay!" My voice was barely above a whisper. "I... I thought..." I stepped closer and bent down, Specter tensed and turned his face away.

"You found me injured and unmasked, I suppose you're interested to see who I am?" His voice was sharp and rough. I couldn't discern if Specter was angry, scared, embarrassed, or a combination of all three. I could tell he was in a lot of pain though, judging by the sound of his ragged breathing.

I set his mask down beside him before turning around and taking a few steps away. I stared out at the waves for a few moments as I wrung the water from my hair and clothes. I kept my back to him as I replied. "I don't need to know what you look like. I can see that you're a good person... And that's good enough for me."

Too bad her best friend Trey Roberts also happens to be the newest member of the League of Heroes. He might be new to the whole Superhero thing, but he's not going to let Rya get hurt on his watch. Unfortunately, that leaves just one option, for Trey's mysterious partner LP to intervene. For a Hero, he sure does have an off-the-books way of working that causes he and Rya to clash instantly. The more ingrained into her life the Supers become the more desperate Rya is to figure out who's targeting her, and more importantly, who LP is beneath the mask. Rya is willing to do anything for the truth. Mythical creatures have gone missing all around the same area and Scarlett has to find out where they have gone, but it's more than she would have thought when all of a sudden, she's sucked into a black hole in the forest and landing on a tree in another dimension. Now Scarlett has to find the missing creatures along with finding a way back to her realm. What realm did she land in? The place where everyone thought was a myth, the human world. I can still hear you rolling your eyes. Superheroes. Like in comic books? Like people with super speed and mutant powers? Yes. But this isn't about the fight they have. More about the lives they lead without the masks. But just keep in mind, people who live in the world have all different skin colours. Do not assume my characters are of one unless I state them explicitly. and diversity is welcome here in my novel! Anyhow, back to the story. Ever wonder where supervillains go after their fight with the hero? What about the other side of the story? It's not like they sit in their lair cackling all day and planning how to kidnap reporters. What about the lives they lead? And instead of just focusing on that, what if the superhero and the supervillain knew each other? I mean, can they see behind the mask? No, so their identities are secret. So what if the hero and villain were best friends? What if they were roommates? What if they were falling for each other? And what happens when they find out? Now, I assume you know all of these questions will be answered in this book. But hold on. It's going to take a while. You're in for a bumpy ride. And if any of you got any of the references in this description, give yourself a pat on the back. That is a beautiful thing. And if you can name all the references in this book, you truly are a gift to mankind. Fangirl out.

Times change and things shift for the worse as Neera's ex, Koen James, comes back into her life stronger as a supervillain, threatening the peace of the world and the freedom Neera discovered. ⚡️⚡️⚡️ Neera's eyes closed and her chest rose as she breathed deeply, trying her hardest to focus her power on the heroes nearing her. She opened her eyes, watching intently as the heroes slowly crowded on the rooftop around her. The moon illuminated their serious masked faces and flashy suits, giving Neera the opportunity to figure out what powers they might possess. She kept her eyes halfway closed and studied them. Most of the suits were at least 75% black. One hero stuck out in her blue suit. It had no black on it. Neera was wary of the color of her suit. /How did I end up here?/ One of the heroes had surprised her with a lucky hit almost a minute ago. She had felt the impact and acted on it, diving to the ground. She had a better fighting chance against the six when they were caught off guard. Girls weren't expected to be able to do much, so to be able to make her dreams come true, she disguises herself as a boy to find out what an ocean voyage will be like. Follow her in the adventure she takes across the Atlantic Ocean.
