Noora Barnes, 16, and officially a citizen of the universe (she's moved so much) loves her friends and would never trade them for anything... But she's lived in the United States for almost four years, now, and she still doesn't feel like she belongs there. Things would be far simpler if she were louder, more confident, and perhaps less polite, but Noora has always been quiet, on the shy side, and remembered her proper manners. She can't help but wonder what the life of Aurelia Schmit is like, with her (seemingly) unsurpassable theatre talents, great hair, existant love life, and incredible charm.
Aurelia Schmidt, 17, remembers Noora Barnes. She remembers how kind Noora was, she remembers her originality, her dad jokes, her love for all things vintage. But above all, she remembers Noora's ease, Noora's ability to see the light in any situation, her ability to adapt to almost anything at all. Aurelia knows she's got it just fine, but she can't help but wonder what the life of Noora Barnes is like, a freshman with good grades and a clean slate.
