On a rare three day weekend, Sylvia woods went camping with her best friend Jessica Holmes. The two made a deal that there would be no technology whatsoever, so they turned their phones off and parked their car two miles away from their camping site, which is deep in the forest outside of the small town they live in. Now, on their way back to their town of 1600, they begin to notice strange things. Neither of their phones can connect to any internet, no radio stations can be heard, and everything seems deserted and very creepy. Finally, Jessica is frozen at a sight that they pass on the side of the road, which makes her stomp on the brakes. Luckily, no one was behind them. "Jesus fucking Christ, why did you do that, Jess?" Sylvia cursed, having to throw her arms in front of her so she didn't slam into the dashboard. Annoyance bubbled up inside of her, but it faded away as she saw how pale Jessica looked. The usual amusing and teasing look in her eyes were gone, no trace of them. Instead, fear and horror replaced them. Sylvia followed her gaze, her expression mirroring Jessica's. Both were speechless as they gazed at the sight in front of them. Three people, two men and one woman, were hunched over two other people, blood everywhere on the ground. The three people who were crouched over them dug into the two supposedly dead people's bodies, eating their intestines quickly as they could. Their gazes turned towards the car, their bloodshot eyes and bloodied faces stealing the breath that Sylvia had apparently been holding. Then, they got up and began groaning and hissing, stumbling towards the car slowly. "Holy shit, drive!" Sylvia yelled, tearing her gaze away to Jessica, who looked like she was about to puke. "Fucking drive!" Sylvia screamed, which snapped Jessica out of her trance. The car took off, leaving the scene behind with the two friends in a shock.

I stood there leaning against the door for a second. Then screams reached my ear. I looked to where it came from and saw a girl at the other end of the hall laying on the ground with a gaping hole in her stomach. Three other students had ripped away at the girl's insides and were chewing it up. One paused for a second and looked up at me. He stood up and I panicked. I knew him. He was in my chorus class. August was his name. He had blond, curly hair, blue eyes, and was probably the tallest person in the entire school. August opened his now bloody mouth and let out a screech that sent chills down my spine. He leaped over the other two cannibals and the now dead girl and broke into a sprint. As soon as he leaped I had also started running. I made it out of the 300 hall and hid behind the vending machine that stood at the entrance of the hall. Seconds later, August was standing just inches from me. He looked around and I stayed as quiet and still as I possibly could. I didn't even breathe. After what seemed like years of waiting, August turned back toward the dead girl and walked out if sight. I stayed where I was for a little bit longer until my lungs demanded I start breathing again. Directly in front of me was the library and cafeteria. To the right of the cafeteria was the auditorium and the music hall. "If I could just make it to the chorus room maybe I'll find some of my friends," I thought to myself. I was about to take my first step when I looked down at my shoes. They were brand new and when I walked, they squeaked. I took my shoes off as quietly as I could. I had my Captain America socks on and I knew I'd have to take those off as well. I just couldn't risk slipping. Once my feet were bare I took off in a quiet sprint towards the music hall. How awesome is that cover though!? Lol my dad made it.
