Reese Eichel used to live on a ranch in the Appalachian Mountains. She lived her life as a rancher and artist. Only going into town to get more supplies she can't make herself. Life was going how she wanted. Until aliens came to Earth to seek peace and trade. With them followed a group of space black market aliens. It was the wrong day to go into town and everyone was taken to become anything the aliens wanted. Even pets.

We headed north for a day, or what i thought was north, to be honest, I couldn't tell. The pain from my leg was making my mind blur and each passing minute was pure agony. Nutmeg was beginning to tire and the pups, well I had to pick them up a while back, they kept on falling behind. I suppose I'm lucky in some ways, one of them been that it's spring and not winter but the wind is still cold, its always so cold... Hope I make this book as good as the last one. I would get lucky if I saw a bunny or two maybe a deer or a few wolves but it was always so lonely, the only animals I ever saw and interacted with were my chickens and horse, the nearest town was at the bottom of the mountain and with there always been blizzards up here it would be suicide to attempt walking down the path to the Village. _________ It was a normal day up in the mountains, I had just finished gathering the eggs from the chickens, the pesky little things kept gathering at my feet looking for their food, I swear i should have fed them first.
