Dragons exist. Kotessir was created to annihilate them.

But when he encounters fiery female Isylith, he wages a mental war against the two halves of himself.

Can he fend off the instinct to kill dragons, which was placed in his mind by the alchemist who created him?

Or will he give in and destroy her, and the rest of the dragons who still live?

As well as this, there is trouble between humans and mythical creatures, a violent and possibly unstoppable foe, and a council of stony Elders to deal with.

Can Kotessir take the pressure?

There, they will have to find the Light to dispel the growing Darkness within. Though this qest is honorable and righteous, the dangers that await them are exponentially worse than they could ever imagine. Whether they can save the world depends on whether they can survive themselves. Mature rating for blood, gore and depictions of violence. TW: mentions of drunkards and beer, mention of physical abuses, a description of trypophobia, claustrophobia, and other phobias, and descriptions of nasty cryptids. There is no depictions or allusions of sex, no f-bombs, or drug abuse. This story was started when I was in seventh grade. I finished the original when I was a senior in high school. Displeased with the finished product, I began to rewrite it here, starting June 2015, then again in 2020. I am quite satisfied with the result, and am sure this will be the final edition. This isn't the first book of the series, but there's no spoilers for 'The World is Larger than it Seems', so you can start on this one. The story is far from finished, however, and I hope to eventually finish the series.
The Age of Solace: The Silver Wolf by -loneXwolf97-
63 parts Complete Mature
Volume 1 of the "Age of Solace" series. (Part 1 of 4). A serious dark-fantasy story. Descriptive violence and gore, as well as dark themes (Rated M, no lemons present). Peace. Conflict. War. Bloodshed. This is the way of things, and this is what happened between the dragons and mankind. Once they were allies. Man was ever growing and learning, while dragons were their guardians, watching over them. But mankind was greedy, and from that greed bred betrayal towards their great allies. In times long ago, dragon and man worked together to rid their realms of the demonic presence that once invaded their lands. Together, they defeated that enemy. But now, dragons are near extinct and the demonic menace has returned. There are humans that possess abilities that allow them to fight back, but it is not enough. Such humans have banded together, in a group called Corvin's blades. They hope to be able to defeat their enemy without the aid of dragons this time... but there is more to all of this than anyone understands. This story follows multiple youthful characters as they not only aid in the fight against the demonic threat, but learn and grow as they discover more about the lands they live in and of themselves. Views on dragons are changing, demons and spirits are invading, and two individuals are in the center of everything that is happening. Was it fate and destiny... or choice and coincidence? *Rated M for descriptive violence and gore, as well as dark themes* * Chapters to be updated* *Cover art was made by myself. (Ancients: Book 1) Being immortal and being unable to die are two reasons for Scarlet Evans to be in a severely bad mood. Added to it is the fact that she has to babysit a teenager who could, or could not, destroy the world in an unprovoked tantrum. At nine thousand years old, you'd think she would have learnt by now- "You little-" Fine, fine, I won't spoil the story for your dear readers. Sheesh. However, I am compelled to warn you that this book contains a lot of swearing (a LOT), as well as deplorable behaviour and the occasional violent outburst. "Hey!" Okay, fine, I'll stop now. *** "I am so sick of saving the world now, why can't someone else have the pleasure? Why do I have to be the saviour of the earth while most of its inhabitants don't even know I've gone and saved it? I've spent most of my existence looking after the mortal realm, and I hate it. I don't know why they can't just destroy themselves and get it over with."
