One of the many societies on the planet with purple grass has developed a way to help the universe, but the Voltron Team knows that this will do anything but help the universe, and that they must stop it at all costs. Together, the five Paladins make up Voltron, Defender of the Universe. And what do defenders of the universe do? They defend it. * * * The timeline for this fanfiction within seasons 1-2 of VLD are unknown, for reasons that will be clear by the end of this particular fanfiction. As such, the characters will know how to do certain things, and not know other things. Because of this, there will be spoilers for some things but not others, and seeing as this happens somewhere within the spacetime between the episodes of seasons 1 and 2. It's weird. Hang with me, it'll all make sense by chapter sixteen. Maybe fifteen. I haven't written that far out yet. Earth is saved from the Galra, and the Paladins of Voltron are the heroes of the Galaxy Garrison, well all except for Keith. He'd been kicked out before the war, and they didn't want him back. He's alone again. Lance, Pidge, and Hunk are employed by the Garrison, Shiro leads missions off world, Allura and Coran are establishing a new world for the Alteans who'd survived, and the Blade don't need him. Keith works in a coffee shop and gets by the best he can, on the little money he earns. This story is loosely based on the paladins of Voltron. I have not watched all the seasons and have changed the backstory of some characters. I do not own any of the characters in this story, and I do not own any of the artwork. There is smut, swearing, talk of rape, and self-harm in the story. I will not be putting disclaimers at the beginning of the chapters, so if you don't want to read it, move on to another story. Warning: Violence, mention of rape, mention of self-harm, boyxboy, sex.

He nearly cried out at the impact. The Black Paladin dug his hands into the fabric of his shirt, pushing him harshly against the wall, "Where is Lance?!" Keith snarled. It really was remarkable how his eyes changed to resemble those of pure Galra. It would have scared him if his introduction to the guy hadn't been a gushing retelling of a 'bonding moment' between him and his brother. Alec merely rolled his eyes. "Haven't you been listening. I. Don't. Know. And to think Lance said you were smart." Keith was pratically growling as he pulled his arms off of his shirt. "I'll say this once. You will either help me find my brother and fix the mess you made or you will let me leave with that ship and stay the fuck away from him." In which Lance goes off on a solo mission without the others knowing only to be left behind when the team disappears and having to deal with the aftermath. (They do get reunited. In fact most of the time lance spends a part from them in shown in Lance's flashbacks leading up to their reuinion.)

In a world, a long, long time ago, lived a crystal. The lands flourished and bloomed until the crystal cracked, the shard lost to time. There came two races with the crystal cracked, the Skeksis and the Mystics. With both races dying, only one could save them. His name was Keith, the last known living Gelfling. He was the chosen one. And he has no clue. NOTE: This takes place in the Dark Crystal universe but still has my own twists to it. I'm basing this story solely off the movie and my own imagination. A few tidbits of knowledge that would make this story make a lil more since are: -This one-shot is only based off the movie, not the comics nor the upcoming (as of 2019) show. -All of the species named here (Gelfling, Skeksis, Mystics, Podlings) are all more humanoid than what is canon in the Dark Crystal movie but you can still image them as you wish. -The Skeksis are the Galra. (The Mystics AREN'T the Alteans though.) Image the Skeksis as more Galra-like or more Skeksis-like, do what fits your imagination. Lol, first Klance! Hope you all enjoy! Keith has been haunted since he fought with the Druid. His hand... It just healed... That wasn't a normal thing. Then Zarkon... The emperor told Keith he fought similar to his Galran soldiers. That had honestly scared him. So when the paladins are reunited after being spread throughout space, he tries to hide his insecurities and fears and pain. However, he can't hide it for long. And he never thought Lance could actually smile so kindly, let alone smile at him. I do not own Voltron: Legendary Defenders or the characters!!! I also do not own any pictures used.
