Kassidy 'Kas' Morgan. He has all the tools to be a catalyst of great change within the city of Karraway. He not only is feared by most, but respected by those who have immense power in the gangs and in the Slums of Karraway.

At a young age though, Kas was witness to the bloody and brutal murder of his mother, a memory which marred his young mind. Now driven by a thirst for revenge, Kas not only fights to survive the deadly streets of the Slums, but also in the hopes of finding his mother's killer and strike fear into the hearts of those that left him alive that night.

Violet. She fled a war that raged in her homeland, one that had ended, resulting in her people to be slaughtered by the hundreds. She fled not because her people had been conquered, but because she was to be a peace offering, a lamb being prepared for the slaughter. Her death would have led to a peace that would have led to the best of her people being murdered in order to keep them in line.

When Violet arrives in Karraway, she is attacked but in the end, saved by Kas who drove her attackers off. Kas says it was his good mood that led to him saving her...but Violet feels it was something else...something stronger.

Both teenagers have a burning passion to make those who wronged them pay for their crimes, and both have power. Kas with his gang, the Crows, at his back and Violet with centuries old magic running through her veins. These two working together, along with a team of the best the Slums have to offer, Karraway's worst citizens, will become the most dangerous criminals in Karraway history.

The question is, will they get what they are after? Or will even stronger, more terrifying forces get in the way?
