Anaya is a nine year old girl living in a small village in Punjab, Pakistan and is very happy with her life. Despite the lack of facilities and dangers that lie in every crook and cranny of her village she loves it. She loves the smell of grass and the soft feeling of it under her toes. She loves running in the rice fields when the grass is fully grown and comes up to her shoulders. It gives her a sense of freedom. Something no girl over the age of 12 can have in her village but Anaya strives to live by her name which means freedom and will fight for it at all costs. Her dream is for all girls to be educated and for them to have freedom so they can go on to achieve their dreams which are taken off them as little kids. However her father's fatal condition gives Anaya, her 3 year old sister Aamaal and her dad no choice but to move abroad for the girls education and their father's treatment both of which are impossible to get in her small village but Anaya doesn't want to leave her beloved village and her mum who she loves dearly. Can Anaya leave behind the only things she knows for a life abroad?

So, why can't she escape this emptiness inside her; that's slowly eating her away? Moving back to Pakistan for her medical degree was the answer she sought, but her life turns upside down, when she is forced into an unwanted alliance. Can Aasiya untangle the knots of her heart, as she journeys through life, whilst battling with herself? Will a happy ending await her, with the one she desires? Or truth will break her and cause her to fall apart? *RATE ON GOODREADS*
