Derek is an Omega in all senses of the word and he just an alpha and a pack to give his love to, but he can't ever get close to an alpha because of his birth family and who they are in the werewolf world.
Scott is tried of being alone. He knows that he isn't really alone and that he has his pack and his mom but he wants a mate. Someone to hold and to cherish and to dominate. The only problem is that his pack is made up of almost entirely omegas and so the other omegas he's tried to court have felt threatened.
