I am a weapon, a tool used by people trying to reach their own goals. I have felt pain, I still feel pain, I will always feel pain.  That's my life, and I can't escape it.

The Avengers just saved the world once again, this time from a murderous metal bot who tried to drop down a city with the intension to kill all of humanity. As they did save the city, they were joined by three new members, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, along with a bot called Vision. Pietro Maximoff almost died when saving the city, but thanks to Tony Starks high level of technology, they were able to save him. They restored the Stark pent house, and made it a place where they can all spend their time, where they can all live, and they are in fact, all currently living there.

Everyone is in a good place right now, no one threatening to blow up the planet, just peace. That peace however, is disturbed, as Nick Fury captures one of the most deadliest assassins known in Europe, the Black Death. A woman that has been known to work for HYDRA and the Leviathan, to kill thousands of people, believed to be another Super Soldier experiment.

However, after he drops Bucky off in Wakanda where he'll be safe, Steve feels more alone than ever. Natasha Romanoff is on her own. Bruce Banner is still missing, Thor is off who-knows-where doing who-knows-what, and the Avengers are scattered. Nevertheless, she's perfectly okay with being alone. She always has been. Knowing that Steve is alone, however? It worries her. And when HYDRA is involved, being alone may not be an option. --------------------------------------------------------------------- This fanfiction takes place after Civil War and before Infinity War. I am WELL aware that Avengers Endgame is probably going to invalidate every word that I write here, but whatever. I just wanted to write this. DISCLAIMER: All of these characters, despite a couple background, belong to Marvel. The story and events that take place, however, are all of my own design. I also changed a few characters (who haven't been introduced to the MCU yet) so that they'd fit the story. It's been almost two years since the defeat of Thanos & the effects of the snap was successfully reversed. The world has slowly picked up the pieces & everyone worked hard to resume their lives right off where the Decimation left them hanging. Some succeeded, as easily as pressing the play button after putting a movie on a long pause, while some were never the same again despite regaining everything and everyone they have lost. The Avengers were the lucky ones. Lucky enough to go back to their normal or fortunate enough to be given a fresh start. Tony & Pepper got married & jetted off in a private island to finally start their long overdue family life. Sam moved back to D.C & resumed his work at the VA. Rhodey continued working as a military consultant & Wakanda has never been more occupied as it became the number one tourist spot in less then a year. Clint went back to retirement tugging Wanda along with him to his farm where Laura welcomed her with open arms. Thor & Bruce were off-planet helping the remaining Asgardians settle on a new home. Fury rebuilt his super spy network with Maria overseeing operations at the Avengers Facility, recruiting, training a new breed of response team. And Steve finally got Bucky back & they have spent the past year back in Brooklyn, traveling the world once in a while & even participating in USO tours and fairs. Everyone tried to move on and rightly so because at the end of the day, that's pretty much what's expected of everyone after any tragedy. Natasha, too has moved on. The only problem is, she chose to move on alone. * I don't own any of these characters or wish to infringe on any copy or intellectual rights. I'm just someone who has a deep love for the MCU that I can't help but try to keep the story going, keep these characters alive in more adventures, especially with 'endgame' hovering, looming over us.*

In this alternate universe, Loki is sent to Midgard after the fight over the Aether. The Avengers question the Allfather's sanity, but agree they would rather have Loki where they can keep an eye on him. So, after some extensive remodeling, the Avengers Tower and neighboring facilities are now an extensive training ground with everything they'll need to reform the once proud Asgardian prince. Thor is hopeful. He wants the brother he thought Loki was back. Clint (Hawkeye) is waiting for a reason to exact some much deserved revenge. Steve (Captain America) has hope that even the most hardened of evil doers can be changed for the better. No one quite knows what Natasha (Black Widow) is thinking. Tony (Iron Man) resents having to share his tower with a psychopath. Bruce (Hulk) did not fly away to Sakar. He's brooding away in his own private wing. Scott (Antman) is under house arrest... at the tower. Wanda (Scarlet Witch) is still mourning her brother while nurturing a still very naive Vision. (Neither are living in the tower. Will only play small, fleeting parts in this story.) Dr Strange refuses to move into the tower. After all, it is more important to keep up with his work at the Sanctum. Peter (Spiderman) is spending his summer at the Tower, much to the dismay of Aunt May, who knows how dangerous this is, but does not know Loki has returned. Sam (Falcon) will follow Cap to the ends of the earth, but refuses to jump off the proverbial bridge just because Cap's doing it. Bucky (Winter Soldier) is trying to atone for his past misdeeds, while learning what exactly they were, but is living in Wakanda with T-challa (Black Panther) so neither will be playing a large role in this story. Then there's Aite. She's new. She's the Greek goddess of mischief, delusion, folly, and ruin. You'd think her and Loki would be the best of friends... Not so much.

He claimed he wanted to take over the world, her world, but she was determined to stop him. Taking something valuable from him, ended up with her being thrown through the window from the tower, and hitting bottom, literally. She hated him with everything she had, knowing it was all his fault. But having him here again on earth, 'reformed', is what she was told, brought it all back, her nightmares, her anger and her desire. He made her life hell, for what he did, and now it was her turn, to destroy his life, in every way she could. Even more moody than Bucky, more sarcastic than Tony, more powerful than Wanda and definitely more angry than Hulk, the god of mischief better stay out of her way, if he knows what's good for him.
