Callum Peterson is kidnapped when he is six years old. Ten years later he shows up on the doorsteps of his family's home. No one knows what to think. His family rushes him to the hospital, and are thankful that he's okay. He is sent home, and is allowed to get on with his life.

That's much easier said than done. Callum is plagued with nightmares about what happened during those ten years. He doesn't know what to do other than to lay awake at night to avoid them.

His parents seek help for him and do find him some. He doesn't really want it, but he goes to avoid the argument with his parents. Like his parents hoped, Callum gets the help that he needs, and it's easier on everyone in the house.

But that's not the end. Callum was kept with a boy around his age the whole time he was gone, Nick. He doesn't know what happened to Nick after he ended up back at home.

Nick pops up at a hospital with no one knowing who he is. The police show up to investigate, and notice how similar he is to the description of the boy that Callum gave them of the boy that he was kept with.

Once Nick wakes up they both go over what happened with them with the police again. Neither of them want to, but the police insist, so they do. Life seems to go good after that, but what will the boys do if it all goes to hell?
