I watched from my window as I saw Aunt Nichol get carried out of the orphanage. She would be taken away to hang due to the suspicions of her murdering a general that had come to visit us. She didn't do it. She was being hanged for something she did not commit. That night I ran away as a different person. From now on everyone would know me as, Adam.
A girl living in the 1700s runs away from the orphanage she lived in for most of her life to save a woman from hanging. To do this she changes her identity, pretending to be a boy with the name Adam. She then continues to help people in ways no woman would be able to. She faces love, horror, betrayal, and violence. This is her story.

They say what's in the past keep it in the past but I wanted to know all about my past. It was things that I didn't know and that I wanted and needed to know!
