"Never tease anything that wants to eat you. My name is April Tate and my blood is the new gold. Vampires and hybrids have overrun my world, once vibrant with life, but now a graveyard of death shrouded in shadows. I fight to survive; I fight for my mother and brother. The journey is full of turns that I am quite unprepared for. And I'm just hoping to make it to the next Vegas sunrise..."

In a post-apocalyptic world, a viral epidemic has wiped out most of the earth's population, leaving behind few humans but untold numbers of mutated vampires. April is a seventeen-year-old girl who lives in the remains of Las Vegas one year after the outbreak. She has become a ferocious vampire killer and after her family is abducted, she goes searching for them. What she finds is a new breed of vampire, unlike any she has seen before. Unsure of whom she can trust, she discovers that her view of the world is not as black and white as she once thought, and she's willing to bend the rules to rescue her family. But in trying to save them, she may only succeed in bringing her fragile world crashing down around her.

|CROSSROADS x LEAP YEAR | Eighteen-year-old April Lewis flees her troubled home, desperate to escape her emotionally distant, controlling mom, and seek out her dad. Little does she know a chance encounter with her classmate will take her on a cross-country ride: a journey that will change April's life forever. A venture that will lead her down a path of self-discovery and unexpected love. *** When eighteen-year-old April Lewis' mom walks around like a zombie, evades all attempts to talk and controls her every move, April decides she's had enough. She leaves home one warm summer evening with nothing but a yellow backpack filled with her coveted dad's letters he's been sending her for the past months, and some bare necessities. She's determined to seek him out and go live with him down on the West Coast, where he has a temporary job. The last thing April expects is almost being hit by a car. The owner of the vehicle? Her classmate, Dave Rivera, a troubled boy whom she almost never talked to before, and who can't be more different than her. After making sure April is just a little banged-up, Dave strikes a deal with her: he'll help her get to the West Coast free of charge, as long as she doesn't report him to the cops. The two embark upon a road trip from NY to LA, navigating through stunning landscapes and meeting a colorful cast of characters. While sharing life stories and exchanging experiences, armed with the wisdom from her Dad's letters, April and Dave discover that they are a lot more alike than they originally thought. The journey slowly becomes more important than the destination, and their path takes an unexpected turn when a shocking secret comes to light. © 2024 EvelynHail Exclusively on Wattpad Based on prompt 4! Back by popular request! The 2017 rough draft of The Virus Within! (Caution: Contains massive plotholes that were fixed in the polished The Virus Within Series. Grammar issues are present, particularly missing commas.) What do you do when you are one of the infected? The virus in my blood is trying to steal my humanity. It alters my very thoughts and reactions. It taunts me by tempting me with desires that it planted in my brain. These bloodthirsty desires would lead to my demise if I ever gave in. I have more in common with the zombies than with humans at this point. Even the fallen zombies accept me as one of their own. Blood is required to retain my grip on sanity, but the sweet-smelling blood from humans is a short path to madness. Human blood is to be avoided at all costs. Humankind around the world was driven close to extinction by the sudden appearance of the zombies, yet small groups of survivors constantly manage to appear and put my control to the test. -------------------------- This is a standalone zombie book. It has nothing to do with A Different Virus. I wanted to try a book with an easily irritated main character and a nutcase secondary character. This book has a slightly darker outlook at the beginning than my usual stories, but it has some humor further along. Definitely not a horror story, although it has its share of action. 4 updates a week: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday! Copyright April 2017. All Rights Reserved. ***HIGHEST RANKING IN VAMPIRE*** #3 - 26-9-2018 #4 - 13-8-2018 and 23-09-2018 #5 - 29-8-2018 and 5-9-2018 "What happened?" It's all I can muster at this stage but I figure it's a place to start. "You had a head injury and passed out. I cleaned you up and put you in here to rest." His voice is now calm, much different to what I heard from the other room. "You said you cleaned me up. Did you also change my clothes?" I recall his words and am almost too shocked to ask about his invasion of my privacy. A devilish smile crosses his lips as he coyly looks at his feet. He is enjoying my embarrassment. "You're clothes had blood on them and I wasn't about to put you in a clean bed with dirty clothes on. Trust me; you have nothing I haven't seen before." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Vampires are real and after an eternity of hiding, they have chosen to let the world know of their existence. But when they emerged from the shadows, they were met with hostility and discernment. It wasn't long until they were segregated from humans and forced to live in Vampire Only areas while the rest of the world went on with their lives. Fed up with this malicious arrangement, the vampires waged a war on mankind and came out the victors. Mankind were forced to retreat behind concrete walls designed to keep vampires at bay and this is where they stayed for decades. Evie is a human that has just fallen victim to a trap set by vampires so that she can be used as a source of food or even a plaything for a high bidding vampire. But to her bewilderment, she is taken to Alex. A dangerous and high ranking vampire that enjoys toying with his victims. Knowing how precarious this vampire is, Evie still can't shake the feeling that his striking blue eyes are reminiscent of something but what. But what lengths will she go to find out more about him and every other vampire? I guess it's true what they say. Opposites really do attract.

Almost 13 years have come and gone. Alice hasn't aged a day, neither did Tate. He made Alice change him. Being that he was only a werewolf and a warlock, it meant that he would age quicker than Alice would and eventually die. When Alice changed him, the blood exchange had also changed her. They were the new hybrids, now both a Vampire and Lycan Hybrid, with the exception of Tate also being a Warlock. Their children also take after Tate, when it comes to magic, but they're also a Lycan and Vampire Hybrid. Alice's mother and father, along with the other Immortals, rid the world of the other hybrids, the ones that Kane had created. So now, the only hybrids that walk the earth are Alice, Anna, Tate, Ali, Aiden and his twin sister, and Alice's twin children. The only thing missing was the one they've been searching for. For the last decade, they'd been searching for Aiden's sister. Another missing piece of the never-ending puzzle. Alice feels as if there's so much more to this. Why else would Sophia have kept her from us all this time? There was no sign of either of them for quite a while. Alice and the others had begun to lose hope. That was until recently when a close informant had spotted them at a restaurant. They said they were seen celebrating, and there was another child in the picture. Had they done it again? Had they corrupted the innocence of another woman? What is their end game? This wasn't the end. Only the beginning of something far greater, beyond anything they would've imagined.

**COMPLETED** Several years after the world succumbed to a deadly strain of measles that turned those infected into crazed, mindless cannibals, Charlotte wanders the backroads alone, content with surviving day-to-day. That is until she crosses paths with Nate and his daughter, Emmi. Emmi is not and cannot be vaccinated against the disease, so the only way to protect her and give her some kind of life is to reunite her with her estranged mother in a quarantine zone on the other side of the country. Charlotte wants nothing to do with Nate or the girl who looks like her dead sister. She does not want to go through the grief of losing people again if something bad was to happen. And something bad does happen when Emmi is kidnapped, and it is no one's fault but Charlotte's. Through this obligation alone, Charlotte feels like it is her responsibility to get Emmi back, to right her wrong. In helping Nate pursue his kidnapped daughter, Charlotte inadvertently allows herself to feel again, to care for those other than herself. But with the clock ticking, Charlotte's new found family may just end up like her own, dead and destroyed, if Emmi is exposed to the disease that her father tried so hard to protect her from.
