Siege - Book III of The Harvest Wars Series.

Mighty Covenport, jewel of the Boiling Sea, has fallen to the walking dead. Yet in the Scarred Empire, that most powerful and ancient of the human realms, the plague of the undead is a common threat, as ordinary as the storms that ravage sea and land. Mighty armies gather, joined in their desire to liberate the city - and plunder as much of its spoils as possible.

Yet what at best should have been a minor adventure in the Empire's long history of its war against the undying might very well be its ultimate downfall. For the dead that plague the city are no mindless vermin - they are united, controlled by beings that once were the Empire's greatest heroes: the Thirteen.

While the armies of these Deathlords rise to do battle with their mortal enemies, it once more falls to the Scarlands most infamous band of mercenaries to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.

Will the Skulltakers cheat death once more or will they join its ranks?

A year ago, the world was destroyed by ancient gods, summoned by a cabal of wealthy elites who sought to reshape reality. Their dark ritual unleashed vengeful deities who twisted Earth into a nightmarish landscape where magic rules, technology crumbles, and humanity struggles to survive. Familiar places became deadly realms. Forests turned into dark, sentient labyrinths, lakes teemed with krakens, and the skies became the domain of dragons and harpies. Cities either crumbled or transformed into dungeon-like ruins filled with traps and monstrous inhabitants. Survivors cower, avoiding the gaze of mind flayers, beholders, and the undead, while fiendish creatures openly harvest souls for their infernal masters. In this terrifying new world, Marcus Graves, a former soldier turned necromancer, fights to relax. Armed with dark powers, he raises the dead to protect himself against the horrors that roam the earth. But Marcus isn't just trying to survive-he's determined to enjoy the vacation he and his girlfriend, Sarah, had always planned. Even in a world overrun by gods and monsters, they carry out their now hellish vacation, where survival is the ultimate game, Marcus and Sarah are just trying to kick back and enjoy the ride-even if the world is falling apart around them.
