She battles them day in and day out, alone; keeping the akumas in jars, so that when Ladybug returns, she can purify them. It's pure damage to her in both her hero form, and her secret identity. At the same time, Alya's closest friends, Marinette, Adrien, and Nino have been missing almost as long. Without them, Alya is shown relentless torment by Chloe and her brand-new supporters.
