"OUTCASTS" - a Gotham High School AU

Gotham City High School - a place of infinite boredom, physical and mental suffering, and stuffed with idiots. And in the middle of it; Edward Nygma, 17 years old, senior; and Tom Dougherty's favorite victim to pick on. If only Ed's family home offered shelter from his constant suffering at school - but at home, his father tends to continue what Tom begins during the day. It's getting harder and harder to hide the bruises and the pain he carries with him. Ed is desperate with little to no hope for his future, day to day living a lonely and unsatisfactory life - as an outcast of society.
But what happens when one outcast meets the other?
Oswald Cobblepot - 18 years old. quiet. senior. - recently transferred to GCHS from Arkham High School and enters Edward's life like a mysterious, shy, eye-liner-wearing beam of light in the darkness of Ed's existence. From the moment they had their first chat during lunch break, Edward notices his life taking a turn - but at that point he wasn't quite aware of how drastic that change was going to be...

Hello everyone, Jo is back.
This is my first time writing a full length story in English, so please excuse any mistakes/ oddities in my writing.
I began writing this on Instagram and I will continue doing so in the future, but I will also post it on here, as it's easier and more comfortable to read.
You don't necessarily have to have watched (all of) the show to understand the story as it takes place before the plot of the TV series ( except for maybe the last few chapters) and I will explain everything sufficiently.
