I gazed up, as I saw his striking green and his soft, brown, hair curling over his ears. He looked devastated. But, I knew what was coming and I knew for a fact that he knew that I could never love him. Even if he was my mate, he caused me too much pain. His eyes started watering and with almost a whimper he said, “I’ll always love you.” I stared up blankly at the hazy sky and let a tear fall down my frozen cheek. Was I really this stupid to actually think I could have a happy ending? I was such a fool.
