Iris has been training to be a Holy Knight since she could toddle. Technically, she has the experience of a Diamond Rank Knight, because of her father and mother. Yes, her parents are Holy Knights, although after the birth of her and her now, 6 month old little sister, mom has been home, while father fights with the rest of the Knights of Liones. 

When her and her mother heard about what was happening with the Holy Knights and Hendrickson, of course she wanted to help, but her father wouldn't let her, saying it was too dangerous and he wanted them to get out of Liones.
