He looks out beyond the edge and I can't seem to pull my eyes away from him. He smiles and speaks, but I can't hear anything he says. Even so, the buzzing seems to grow quieter and quieter till it's just silence all around myself and him. I watch his mouth move as inaudible words flow from it into the air, and his hands open as he gestures while he speaks. I watch as he looks turns to look at me to be sure I am following along, and then his eyes just wait on me and his mouth stops moving. I watch him mouth my name and tilt his head to read me. There's nothing I can tell him. Nothing that wont change things, but if I keep this going things will change. "Xylia," He mouths again. ******************************************** Xylia doesn't remember any of it, she lived through it all and yet she can't remember. Down the hall a small frail pale girl is being wheeled into the ER in the Ward while they try to cut off her clothes. "She's not breathing!" Gabby hears a nurse yell and gabby shakes her head and goes to the group of girls and guys by the tables

Mama told me that I was a beautiful girl when I was little. Mama said that I had the prettiest tan skin, soft wavy black hair, and the most enchanting emerald eyes. She always called me her bundle of joy. Then she got very sad when she told me that I didn't have a voice. I was only two at the time. I didn't understand any of the former English gibberish. Mama looked like she wanted to cry every time I opened my mouth to let out what was supposed to be a small giggle of joy. Or when I wanted to say her name and Papa's name.
