Ludzie i wampiry żyją obok siebie.
Wampiry wyszły z cienia niecałe pół wieku temu i niemal podbiły świat. Nim ludzie zdążyli zauważyć, one już objęły wysokie stanowiska, urzędy, stworzyły własny rząd i wygrały wybory. Natychmiast wprowadziły system segregacji rasowej - tym razem to ludzie byli tymi gorszymi. Jednak powstali, stworzyli armię i za pomocą niesamowitych technologii (a może magii?) zwyciężyli.
To jest śmieszne - im bardziej się coś ludziom zabiera, tym mocniej się tego trzymają. Pieniądze, władza. Wolność. Życie.
Jednak zwycięstwo Człowieczej Armii Wyzwoleńczej i zapanowanie pokoju nie zniszczyły wszystkich barier. Rząd musiał coś zrobić i w ciągu 3 miesięcy doprowadził do końca projekt sztucznej krwi, wprowadził ją do sklepów i w ten sposób został usunięty ostatni ogranicznik - strach.
Tak im się tylko wydawało.
Bo zawsze jest drapieżnik i jest ofiara. Tylko teraz ta granica się zatarła.

After my escape, and yet another but brutal last year at the same high school, my school sent me their condolences and made sure to inform my future college of my past. I didn't bother to say goodbye to my "friends" or Preston, my ex. The police allowed me to change things, including changing my name & hair, but other than that, I was still me. Once I got my new identity, I tried to start anew. Moving me to a new place was the best thing the police and Dr Matthews allowed me to do, but it still didn't stop this nudging feeling that kept coming over me.
