Wrenches and Wildflowers

2 parts Ongoing Mature

Linda is new in town. When her car breaks down along the side of the road, Daryl-the local mechanic-stops his motorcycle to help. Thus a chance meeting turns into a romance that neither expected to find. -- I fell in love with the relationship between Daryl and Linda from my fanfic book Shot to the Heart- which takes place in The Walking Dead universe. Love blossoming in a world full of horror and danger. In my story, Daryl briefly imagined what life would've been like if they had met while life was still normal. Just for fun I've started a softer love story in an alternate universe where no zombies ever came but Daryl and Linda found each other anyway. After all the trauma that they have to endure in the TWD universe, I wanted to give them a space where they could truly be safe just to see where things would go. For the record, I do plan on possibly having a sequel to Shot to the Heart where we continue the story line of survival. But for now this story is just a feel good reprise. A break from the horror. A well deserved soft place to land for two hearts destined to be together.
