Poseidon died in the third Titan war, Kronos and Iapetus cornered Poseidon with no mercy, Kronos slowed time down and the Hyperion killed the god of the sea with a rusty trident. Percy is now chosen either to be the new god of the sea or back down to still have his old demi-god adventures with his friends.
