Seventeen year old Amelia Henderson has spent the better part of the last four years living in a constant state of flux. After her parents divorced when she was thirteen things haven't been all rainbows and sunshine for her. Her mother and her little brother, her entire reason for smiling on the worst days, moved away not to long after the divorce leaving her with a workaholic father and a house and life of complete and utter loneliness. So she got mixed up with the wrong crowed bringing up an accident that sends her far far away from her father and back into the welcome and warm arms of her mother and the atmosphere of her brothers light smile.
She was also thrown into a delicate balance upon meeting her brothers best friends older brother, a sort of will they wont they where it was clear their hearts belong to other but Amelia had too much damage to just willing give it away for potential breaking again. Then Will disappears and she's sure that life is too short for her to run from him, from love and from life.

Amelia Heart, with her large smile and her infectious laugh, is what most people would think has the perfect life. They would watch as she went back to her beach house, as she went out of her way to stop and chat to her neighbours, as she would get the perfect grades. She was everything you wanted to be, and yet nobody had gotten close enough to her to understand her life in this small town at all. When her plans of leaving suddenly change, and she is forced to start attending the local school, her life takes a route that she hadn't accounted for. A new group of friends, a chance at a normal teenage life, even a potential love interest - things that Amelia had never even thought about happening after everything she'd been through. But happiness is only temporary in her life, and she knew that. It wasn't surprising to her when her past began to catch up with her present, it was simply a good thing that it had taken as long as it had. Things start happening in Amelia's life that simply don't make sense, even to her. They do say you should always keep an eye over your shoulder, especially when you know you're being hunted, but for Amelia, even an eye in every direction wouldn't be enough. Time begins counting down, fast. Did she want to involve her friends? Could the new people in her life be trusted? She wouldn't have long to make a decision.
