College AU | Rainbow Dash isn't perfect, no matter how much people praise her for her athletic skills, or her captivating smile that made almost every girl blush, or her natural flirtatious behavior. Rainbow had a reputation that consisted of being cocky, flirting, and talking about herself 24/7, but this was the Rainbow that the people in public knew; she suffered in silence. She's not always 100% confident in everything she does, her heart still has scars from abandonment and terrible childhood experiences, she had relationship problems in the past, she was misunderstood, she avoids thinking because it only leads her to becoming emotional, and Rainbow always pushes her emotions away. During her junior year in college, she meets the most attractive, modest and selfless girl; Applejack, who'd put her friends and family's needs over her own. She was the only one who saw through all of those smiles and her cocky behavior, she saw the real her more than anyone else did. After a little while, Rainbow and Applejack grew strong feelings for each other that meant more than friendship, but it becomes a problem for Rainbow because she dwells on her past and overthinks her fake image and one of Applejack's closest friends gaslights her. Applejack's feelings never went away and she wanted a genuine relationship with Rainbow, but Rainbow was blinded by the darkest thoughts that were never said to anyone.
Despite their differences and their own personal issues, will Applejack and Rainbow Dash be able to pursue their feelings?
