Just like the story of Romeo and Juliet, their families hated each other. But their story isn't like that. They don't meet and then expect to fall for one another.

There are two parts of the country of Vera. The North Kingdom and the South Kingdom. Two people who are expected to hate each other, bond over a war. Would this war lead their rivalry to love? Or would it just lead them to death?

Sometimes it's hard to control your emotions. But its harder to stop falling in love with the person you once hated.

This story is inspired by one of Shakespeare's greatest works, Romeo and Juliet.

Throughout the book, the main character tries to discover what it means to be alive as a 'lower being' in a new world. Originally, she believes herself to be human until an accident occurs, and she finds herself to be woken up in the middle of what she thought to be some sort of cosplay festival. Oddly enough, these strange creatures weren't human, which she quickly realized after being attacked and nearly killed. Now she's got to learn how to survive in this new, scary environment where everyone's out for her demise. I've learned a lot of the parts in this book relate to real-life events, places in the present, and the past. You'll see a lot of connections between actual human historical events and the goings on in this book. The main character is, above all, head strong and bold. She's unafraid of the social normal and any punishments that come when defying them. ----- My original caption for the story: I had a dream, and it was kinda awesome and slightly romantic. Follow 20 year old Cassandra's story as she struggles to support her sick mother with nothing but a high school degree and an incident that stains her past.
