Ryan is a rising senior in high school who is having his whole world ripped away from him. His older brother and sister are going to college in California, he is being forced to move to the middle of nowhere in Kentucky, and his parents are divorcing. At his new high school, he meets some people who are actually genuinely friendly to him, unlike his last school where nearly everyone went out of their way to verbally attack him. It's part of the way through this transition that he realizes he isn't attracted to girls. He likes guys, and this realization throws his life into more turmoil.
