Hon, a 19-year-old Vietnamese, lives in a small town in Vietnam and lives in the streets like an abandoned person; he is the son of a Gman and a Vietnamese girl and was born during the Vietnam war. Hon has a picture of his father when he was on duty during the war. He was abandoned by his mother as usual for the "Amerasians" (as these children of American soldiers and Vietnamese women are called) because of the hostility of the Vietnamese population towards them and their mothers. Hon wants to find his father who lives in the United States so goes to Saigon to reach the United States from there. He arrives at L.A. where he tries to find information about his father through the photo of him that he jealously preserves. The 'amerasian' Hon receives the information that the father lives in South Dakota and decides to reach him without warning. The father has three children born born before and after Hon.
