When 17-year-old Mercedes sister unexpectedly goes missing, her life slowly falls apart. Nobody knows where her sister’s body is, not even her father Robert, who is the town’s cop. Then things take a different turn. A bus accident changes her life for better or worse. But as a weird side effect from her head injury, she develops a gift of having visions and seeing ghosts.
One of her visions lead her to a murder victim, where the killer has murdered many more people. As more killings start to happen in her hometown, she begins to uncover the mystery of who the killer is. Mercedes starts digging deeper and this leads her down a dark road where once you stepped on it…there’s no going back.

Rose lives in a world where there are only kids (Well under 20) and right before there 20th birthday they get taken away, no one knows what happens to them but the all suspect that there dead. Rose is 19, meaning she doesn't have long before it her turn. Everyone gets their blood drawn daily, but no one knows why. The only a adults are the Helpers (the doctors) as Rose likes to call them and Them but Rose doesn't ever know if they're human.
When she gets assigned to a doctor she starts asking questions; questions that will hurt the people she cares about.
