-- An original story, inspired by a science teacher, my love for video games, and an insomniac. --

Alex has been working at the local coffee shop for a while now.

Customers come and go. Employees, not so much, but they, too, leave eventually.

The cafe has been owned by multiple generations of Alex's family, so it must be filled with secrets, right?

It's not surprising, after all.

Everything has something that should remain hidden.

(-- This book is purely my own ideas, and the story was decided whilst I was arguing with a kid about putting marshmallows in coffee.... Anyone who would like to borrow my ideas, or even claim them, please ask permission first! ~thanks --)

**ORIGINAL VERSION, NO LONGER ACTIVE BUT COMPLETED** *spoilers if you are reading current version* Jake Mitchell wanted nothing more than to be the nameless guy you pass on the way to your afternoon chemistry lecture every Friday. Familiar, but unknown at the same time. Just enough recognition to remember, but knowing so little that you make up stories for him in your head. That's the only reason he took the offer from Everett University to be a left-wing forward on their Division 1 hockey team. A forgotten team really. Dead last in their league and close to dead last in the division. It was just something to help pay the tuition, but nothing much to get any recognition. He gets to keep playing hockey, he can afford to go to an out-of-state school, and he can remain unknown. It's his perfect game plan. Or well it was. Until the worst possible series of events happens. The team wins their first game in 13 years, shocked fans catch Jake talking to a popular pro player after a game, and an unfortunate tweet blows up. All leading to Jake's face being plastered on every Twitter feed, Instagram story, and social media outlet that you can think of. His worst nightmare comes to life in real time. Now with the help of his team, he has to figure out how to deal with his newfound fame while trying to get his bachelor's in chemical engineering and win as many damn hockey games as he possibly can before time runs out and he has to run again. Except, maybe this time he won't have to.

The 5th Arc: Figmented

15 parts Complete Mature

Alex Callahan has always been the type to fly below the radar. Throughout four long, painful years of high school, he's managed to remain fairly invisible, and like most introverts, he considers that an achievement, but a late-night craving for a cheap cup of coffee was all it took to alter the course of his life entirely. After the unfortunate encounter at the local gas station, Alex hasn't felt the same. The incident involved a robbery, a murder, and Alex's lethal power to relinquish electricity within a fraction of a second. His mistake is all over the news. Investigators don't have a face, however, they're hunting for one. Alex's powers aren't hidden away anymore, and his only friend is closer than ever to discovering their existence. Flying below the radar used to be an option, but now? It's Alex's only choice. !! WARNING!! This story is meant for mature audiences only. There's strong language throughout, on top of mature themes like violence, suicide, and implied sexual assult. Please do not continue if you are under the age of 18 or disturbed by the themes listed above. Thank you!
