It happened when the water gobbles up the world, only a few islands remains and those who survive they just continue their lives. They have no choice but to adapt to there new surroundings and the new dangers. 

Eren Jaeger is fortunate to be able to live on a house on his father's small island. But it became a tradition when children reached the age of 18 they leave the comforts of home and go on a voyage, fight mutated, gigantic fishes, find their own island, build their own home and get married.

But of course, Eren doesn't follow traditions. He rather voyage forever, fight sea monsters like what hunters do but not exactly like the hunters, Eren was not sure what to call himself. But he was sure that he is not going to live the rest of his life on a small island forever like his parents. But he wasn't sure as well what to do with his life until he met a particular sea monster.
