Mother and I live in West Virginia during the Cold War. I've been in a war most if my life anyways, so this one isn't much different. There's a hotel nearby where we live called the Greenbrier. It is amazingly huge, even bigger than the White House! The Soviet Union could potentially bomb the United States, and we could potentially die in the attempt to escape to safety. When the Soviet Union really does bomb the area of West Virginia, Mother and I are two and a half days away from the nearest safe house or shelter, and the safe stops along the way are closed with too many people. Mother and I have no place to go except the closest hotel, the Greenbrier. I don't know what to expect when I arrive there, but a nurse takes me in and blindfolds me until we arrive at the destination. There is a whole other world down under the Greenbrier. Beneath its surface is something greater. Find out what it is by clicking.

I see the world through different eyes--literally. Some people would say I have it all. I'm smart, have popular friends and my parents are loaded. One deadly weekend at the family lake house changes all that. When I wake up in a strange facility in the middle of nowhere, I'm told that I'm being held for the public's safety and that I've been given a gift. I can see threads of light around objects that can be manipulated to change ordinary things into new and, sometimes, unworldly contraptions. But to call it a gift? It's actually pretty freaky. But the facility director has got to be the worst. He's completely obsessed with unlocking my abilities, not to mention he's a psychopath. To make matters worse, there's this boy I like. I just wish I knew if I could trust him or not. Or maybe the better question is--can he trust me? I almost forgot to tell you the craziest part of all. I'm radioactive.
