Midnight strikes,
In the dark of the night,
The hounds howl as the men prowl.
In the dark of the night he came,
In the dark of the night my life changed.
My fears where set,
My cry's could not be heard.
His glowing eyes and jet black hair,
My fate was set.
My faith was pulled,
In god we trust.
But in whom do we trust
When that very being turns his back.
If we are all children of god,
What was I.

In a time ruled by fear and religion, you belong to one of two groups.
Those who are god fearing and those who are darker.
I was always forbidden to mention the second group, ironic considering it was I whom he chose.
Every hundred years he would come on the sixth day of the sixth month exactly six seconds after midnight.
Mother and father told me as long as the lord was my saviour I would be safe.
So why didn't he protect me?
