In an act of desperation, Maciej begins to examine his son's drawings using professional equipment. What he discovers shatters the foundations of his knowledge: Adaś is not ill. He is tuned in. The boy hears the hum of the universe's heart and records data that link the structure of the human brain with the movement of galaxies. As Maciej's marriage to Marzena crumbles under the weight of unspoken resentments, the engineer reaches a point that Adaś calls Frequency Zero.
