In a perfect life Fred Long would still have her brother. She wouldn't be mourning his death at the age of eighteen. She would be able to grow old and continue playing pranks on him until they were in their eighties. The last time she saw him wouldn't have been when he was home visiting for thanksgiving two weeks after her eighteenth birthday.
