In a perfect life Fred Long would still have her brother. She wouldn't be mourning his death at the age of eighteen. She would be able to grow old and continue playing pranks on him until they were in their eighties. The last time she saw him wouldn't have been when he was home visiting for thanksgiving two weeks after her eighteenth birthday. The last time she talked to him wouldn't have been the night before he died.
But this isn't a perfect world. And she is having to find a way to move on with life without her best friend.
