For a Fantasy competition, this is an original single chapter, 1000 word short story that stands alone, but proud.

Hades, the God of The Underworld, has long suffered as the Immortal King of souls. His body is a decaying corpse, his brothers and sisters live atop Mount Olympus like true, golden immortals. Chained by servitude to the power The Underworld provides, Hades despises his position as well as depends upon it. Until one day, Zeus' son, Heracles, makes an offer to the repulsive God. 

This story puts the ultimate questions to the Gods of Olympus, such as:
Are family members, ever truly, put to rest?
What defines justice?
Why choose forgiveness over action?
What is it that Heracles thinks he can offer to Hades?
