Set after the A Court of Wings and Ruin/ A Court of Frost and Starlight - Azriel's story.
"I can't bear to think what would've happened had they taken you, and what I would've done to get you back." Azriel pulled away from her slightly to gaze down at her, take in the surprised expression lining her face. Her mouth was parted slightly, and her eyes were wide, filled with shock and something quite like contentment.
After Elain and Lucien complete the mating bond, Azriel is left broken and vulnerable to his shadows. Then he meets Mable, a girl on the run from cauldron knows what. Azriel takes Mable under his wing but begins to suspect that she hiding something and that where she goes danger will follow. Mable must help Azriel overcome his past and the demons around him and he must help her defeat her enemies, but only if the let each other in.
