It all began with an impossible quest: to kill Legolas, the Woodland Elf, the treacherous figure accused of offering his mother to the Dark Lord and murdering her with his own hands. Driven by the need for resources to explore Middle Earth and combat the encroaching darkness, she accepted the perilous mission. But were the rumors true? Would she succeed in slaying the elf and claiming the reward, or would her journey uncover a deeper truth, compelling her to abandon the quest and risk her own life in the process? The line between hunter and hunted blurs in this riveting tale of deception, danger, and destiny. Dive into a world where every decision teeters on the edge of life and death, and discover the secrets that lie beneath the surface of a war-torn Middle Earth. This story unfolds of the War of the Ring, beginning a few months before the Council of Elrond and extending into the dawn of the Fourth Age. Our journey starts by establishing the setting, introducing the characters, and delving into the central narrative focusing on Legolas and Xena. However, this is just the beginning. Prepare yourself for a lasting adventure filled with intertwined conflicts, the seductive allure of the Ring, and the ever-evolving dynamics among our captivating cast of characters. At its heart, this narrative celebrates the spirit of adventure shared by the Fellowship of the Ring, highlighting the bonds of friendship and the depth of love in turbulent times. The central theme is a slow-burning romance between Legolas and Xena. It is a tale of adversaries who become rivals, then friends, and eventually lovers. It promises to be a challenging read but one that is ultimately rewarding.

AFTER the Battle of Five Armies, an elf prince journeys to the north of Middle Earth in search of the mysterious Strider. But to also escape the grief of a 'love unspoken' as well as the oppressive regime of his father, King Thranduil. There among the Dúnedain, Legolas finds friendship, adventure, a sense of humor and a female ranger who is not quite what she seems. Is he fated to forever love another unrequited? And what of the broken relationship with his father, will the prince's choices drive a deeper wedge between them? A classic love story, filled with adventure and intrigue, but ALSO a journey into the unwritten years of the beginning of an epic friendship with Aragorn; all set prior to 'The Lord of the Rings'. *Feb 2018: 2nd in The Middle Earth Awards* *June 2018: 2nd in Arkenstone (The Hobbit) category, The Tolkien Awards* *July 2018: Official Featured Wattpad Fanfiction* *Jan 2019: #3 in Romance Hotlist (181k stories) -0-0-0-0-0- I may have nicknamed this story 'Pride and Prejudice for Elves', our silver-haired princeling has several centuries of repression he needs to work through, as well lighten up - before he can become the elf that we know and love in LOTR! The story is COMPLETE! All votes and comments greatly appreciated. I'd be absolutely thrilled to have you join me on this journey of self-discovery in Middle Earth. The best writing in this story belongs to @GreenScholarTales, who kindly allowed me to weave my romance into her story, 'Starting Anew.' Please go and see her other works and her original series on Wattpad, The Book of Terrus. The beautiful painting on the cover was kindly loaned by the highly talented Irishmellow, see her awesome work at https://irishmellow.deviantart.com/ Copyright: Tolkien owns all the familiar characters, Jackson & Co. own Tauriel and the starting premise, Green Scholar owns several significant events and almost all of the rangers ... but one, Wren, she is all mine!

26 parts Ongoing Mature

The youngest of Lord Elrond's children has always been different from her siblings. A part of her seemed to be locked away, waiting for the right moment to burst forth. Despite this, she was loved, she was treasured and she was protected... until she wasn't. The day she unlocked her true self is a day that haunts her. Instead of the assured protection of her family, she became the protector. That day lingers. It scars. The traumatic event not only affected her but her family. As time moves forward the scar remains, not loudly or visible but it remains. Until an event occurs and that nightmare was said to slink back into darkness, providing a semblance of peace. A small fire, a source of heat for her but a beacon for unsavoury characters. That is all took for the nightmare to come back. That once locked part now pulsates. A warning perhaps or a sign of evolving. She seeks out a wizard for her answers and instead she leaves with more questions and uncertainties. She offers her help when asked, a small thing for a dear friend... Oh how she regrets that. Dwarves! Dragons! Wargs! She did not agree with this. She did not agree with it at all! Amongst, verbally combating with dwarves, playing therapist to an emotionally compromised hobbit, refraining from pushing an annoyingly vague wizard; she finds the past does not remain there. Legolas x oc I own nothing but my original characters and original plot.
