For literature, in year 12, we were tasked with writing a creative story that explored a culture issue that was not greatly publicised. For my story, I decided to focus on Chhaupadi which is a ritual that still continues in India and takes many lives each year, when it is unnecessary.

We are saying that we are living in a modernized society. But really is it so? Still there are some stupid superstitious beliefs which are being believed in our so called modern society. This story deals with one such. The story is set in the present time in a village in Tamil Nadu where everything is modernized. There is no caste biases, love marriages are accepted, no gender inequality, etc. It is all because of the royal family which is taking care of that village. Even they themselves don't portray as royals. But there is one thing which is believed by everyone "A CURSE". It is said that the first daughter in law of any Prince of the royal family will die within six months. And the irony is, it is being really happening in the royal family for more than 100 years. It is believed to be the imperishable curse. What is the reason behind this curse? Is it really due to the curse the daughter in laws are dying? Why the curse is focusing on the first daughter in law alone? Will the imperishable curse will ever get perish this time? Join the journey of three Princes who has returned to their village after long time with so much hopes. But when their hopes and happiness gets broken all of a sudden. "The Imperishable Curse" is going to be a story that tells the beauty of a village life, love, friendship, trust and superstitious beliefs with lot of mysteries to unfold. A woman in her 20's cooking late night maggi with sleepy eyes, her eyes are screaming emptiness, after 5 minutes she took her hot maggi to her room and comfortably sat on her bed... she is eating while watching some movie in her mobile.. soon she drowned into sleep... A man in his late twenties sitting in his home office with a hot cup of coffee and checking the details of the new project he is going to work on... as the time ticked 12 Am he slowly got up and went to his room to take some rest... As he closed his eyes the same face appeared infront of his eyes making him restless... he doesn't want to see this face but he can't help.... A college boy held a girls hand... "I love you why can't you understand why are you doing this to me.." "Sumit i am not interested in you and above all i am married so never try to come near me i only see you as a friend, if you don't want that also i will not talk to you " Suddenly a man stood infront of the college and saw the whole drama he signaled one of the bodyguard... the guard went towards the girl and bowed to her... "Ma'am sir is waiting for you" "what sir?" the girl is too confused then suddenly someone dragged her making her bag fall on ground.. she doesn't even have time to look at the person who is dragging her.. before she understand anything the car moved fastly.. she closed her eyes tightly to control herself.. within minutes they reached a mansion.. the mansion is not new to her nor to the man.. want to know whats going to happen want to know who is the man and the girl.. and whats their story don't waste your time just peep into the story.
