Fairy tales are a load of bull. At least, that's what Valerie Lockhart believes. Not the part about magic or fate or fairy godmothers - though she highly doubts that those exist either - but the part about happy endings. The happy endings in fairy tales are always the things that she finds the most absurd and far fetched, because in her world, they simply don't exist. The only thing Valerie finds more ludicrous than a happy ending, is a Prince Charming. She doesn't have any interest - or patience, for that matter - to wait for a guy to come and save her. Nor does she have the need. She can slay her own dragons, thank you very much. So what does she do when unfortunate circumstances cause a guy to come waltzing into her life, claiming to be her one true love? Her soul mate? Prince Charming, if you will. Well, that's just the thing: she doesn't know what to do, because somehow, fairy tales never seem to include that detail. And that's the problem with fairy tales. They go on an on about finding your soulmate, but they never tell you how to lose them. Valerie will just have to figure that out on her own - with a bit of help from the villain, of course.
