Lindsey Marking is the perfect example of a modern society, the benefits of science, and achieving the impossible. Yes, that may sound amazing, but achieving that didn't have very nice tactics. She was captured from off the streets. She is now being used as a rag doll, a science experiment, against her will.
Jess Thompson had a perfect life, perfect boyfriend, all before they came. They captured Jess right out of her own house, now another rag doll.
There are not only two rag dolls, there are fourteen, each are examples of a modern society. Each one has a magical gift, a power. They each can do something extraordinary.
Fourteen of these abnormalities have been given a magical power, something that only people could dream about. Lindsey can manipulate fire, and Jess and manipulate metal. Each one of these fourteen young adults, united together, can change the world. Each one can live any life they choose. Each one can live happily. Only if they weren't trapped. If only.

When a teacher soon discovers Tilda's sensor potential. She sends Tilda to the sensor hq she runs, where Tilda meets fellow sensor James, who along with her long term friend and sensor Jeanie; joins the rebellious organisation, known as the Wish Sensors. They protect and train sensors, ready for the ban when they take back control of the government, that oppresses them. While Tilda and James grow closer, the rebellion grows with propaganda, threats and sabotage; as Tilda must deal with why fate has made her different to the other sensors .
