Lorrie Carter, 18, is, supposedly, just a bad boy with a not so bad boy name. New to the local high school, and suffering from the burden of overly ambitious and pushy parents, Lorrie is taken in by the popular crowd, the classic 'bad boy' group. Bea Woods, 17, has a lot that she wants to forget, and not much that she wants to remember, apart from her Dance variations. Moving from England, following her Dad's new job, Bea is enrolled at the local high school, where she endeavours to move on and put her past behind her. When their paths cross, they are forced to address questions and events that they have buried deep in the back of their minds. To the world, they appear as polar opposites, but they will grow to realise that there is more that bonds them together than their desire to forget. Outgrowing the connotations of one's name is a truely wonderful thing, but can it ever happen?
