Katie Holt's father and brother went missing a year ago at an all boys summer camp. Now, since all of her family is dead, or presumably dead, she's thrown into the foster system. The summer after their disappearance, she tricked her foster parents, Zak and Sara, into thinking she was going to a different camp than her father and brother had. She then registered the camp herself as a boy named Pidge. She left New York with one goal, to find information about her family, but left San Diego with so much more.

"You can both call me Pidge though. It's what my brother calls me." "Oh man, this so cool! You're our tech expert! Your family is like, legendary. Have you met Shiro?" Lance asked, trying his damndest to act cool even though he was totally freaking out on the inside. Pidge rolls her eyes. "Oh yeah, tons of times. He's lame." "What! No he can't be." The gang of three, Lance, Hunk and Pidge! After they all graduated from high school, the gang decided to live together. They moved to a small island that was surrounded by lots of ocean. They decided to move closer to the ocean because of Lance's sake. Why, you ask? Well Lance was gifted as the Ocean's Child. He can control the ocean with his emotions- which at times gets the best of him. As Pidge is accepted into the college she applied for- she meets Keith. A young boy, who turns out is their neighbor! As Pidge learns more about Keith, Lance becomes more dangerous as he doesn't seem to be taking a liking to Keith. But being the most sensible of the group, Hunk decides to keep Lance and Keith far away as possible. Matt's Story
We never really know what exactly happens to Matthew Holt in the Netflix original series Voltron: Legendary Defender. After being captured by the Galra during the Kerberos mission, we know that Shiro saved him from the Gladiator and that the Rebels rescued him from the Galra prision. Otherwise, we have no idea what happens to him. (AU where instead of Matt and Samuel Holt, it was Katie and her mother who went with Shiro for the kerberos mission.) They were rotting away in a cell. Katie could hear every sound as fear rushed over her when she'd awoken. Shiro had been kind to her and her mother during the mission and that didn't change as they were locked away. They were fine as long as they were together, helping one another and the other prisoners, but then Katie's mother is taken from the cell, leaving Katie with the fear of losing Shiro and being alone.
